Friends of Franklin County State Parks Board meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month.  Place and time of next meeting TBA.

Did you know that the Friends sell souvenir merchandise at each park?  You can help us with our mission and take home a memento of your visit to the Orman House, Gorrie Museum, or St. George Island State Park.  Among the items offered are books, mugs, tee shirts, tank tops, caps, and can koozies.  At St. George Island State Park we also offer kayaks and canoes for rent.  Just visit the office at the park entrance for details.

It's turtle nesting time on St. George Island!  As of July 14, 2011, St. George Island State Park staff and volunteers had marked 33 turtle nests on the beaches of the park.  If you are fortunate enough to see a mother turtle come ashore to nest or to witness a nest hatching out, please watch from a respectful distance and contact the park office at 850-927-2111.
